IGP Orders Major Shake-up in Nigerian Police Force

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the immediate redeployment of senior police officers across the country, impacting specialized units and commands. The reshuffle, effective from January 1, 2026, covers a wide range of areas including command, tactical, and specialized units.

Several Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) have been reassigned to new commands and units, with changes in roles and responsibilities. Notable posts affected include those in the Mobile Police Force, Interpol, anti-human trafficking, and disaster management units.
