Nigeria and Turkey Sign Nine Bilateral Agreements to Strengthen Diplomatic and Economic Ties

During President Tinubu's state visit to Turkey, Nigeria and Turkey signed nine bilateral agreements aimed at enhancing diplomatic and economic ties. The agreements, signed in Ankara alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, cover sectors such as defense, trade, education, diaspora affairs, social development, and media communication.

Specific agreements include cooperation in the fields of defense, education, media, and women's affairs. The agreements also establish mechanisms for information exchange, joint seminars, workshops, and training programs.

Both countries committed to achieving a $5 billion trade volume target. President Erdogan emphasized Nigeria's importance as a key partner for Turkey in Africa and reaffirmed Ankara's commitment to deepening engagement across critical sectors.
