President Tinubu Embarks on State Visit to Türkiye to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

President Tinubu has left Abuja for a state visit to Türkiye as part of efforts to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries. The visit, following an earlier official visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Nigeria in October 2021, is intended to strengthen cooperation in key sectors such as security, education, social development, and innovation.

The delegation includes key officials like Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar, Attorney General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi, Chairman of the House Committee on Defence Jimi Benson, and others from various ministries. The visit will feature meetings with senior government officials, signing of memoranda of understanding covering areas like scientific research, energy, technical cooperation, media, communication, and military collaboration.

Additionally, a business forum will be held to bring together Nigerian and Turkish investors to explore economic growth opportunities. The delegation aims to engage in strategic political and diplomatic discussions focusing on shared interests, financial matters, commerce, investments, and programs.

The visit underscores the commitment of both nations to strengthening their ties and fostering mutual cooperation.
