Malami Forfeits 42 Properties Worth Over N60 Billion

Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General of the Federation, has had 42 properties forfeited to the Nigerian government due to financial crimes. The properties, valued at over N60 billion, include a luxury duplex on Amazon Street in Maitama, Abuja, purchased for N500 million in December 2022, and two wings of a storied building in Garki, Abuja, formerly known as Harmonia Hotel, acquired for N7 billion in December 2018.

Other notable properties include Meethaq Hotel in Jabi, Abuja, purchased for N850 million in September 2020, and various residential and commercial properties across Abuja, Kano, and Kebbi State. The acquisitions span from 2016 to 2023, with significant investments in real estate, including hotels and residential buildings.

The forfeiture reflects ongoing efforts by the Nigerian government to combat corruption and recover assets linked to financial misconduct.
