Peter Obi Resigns from ADC Amid Political Realignment

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, has recently announced his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as he navigates the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a statement shared on social media, Obi described the current political climate as hostile and discouraging, even within political alliances.

He clarified that his decision to leave ADC was not influenced by personal issues with party leaders, including David Mark and Atiku Abubakar. Obi's political journey has seen him affiliated with at least four parties, including the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the People's Democratic Party (PDP), and the Labour Party, before joining ADC in December 2025.

His movements across these parties have been driven by internal disagreements and the pursuit of a better political environment for Nigeria. While he confirmed his exit from ADC, he has not officially declared whether he will join the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
