First Lady Tinubu Commits to Nigerian Children's Rights

During a ceremony held at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja to mark the 2026 National Children's Day, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim, reaffirmed their commitment to the protection, empowerment, and inclusion of every Nigerian child. Senator Oluremi Tinubu described Nigerian children as the heartbeat of the nation and emphasized their potential to transform Nigeria.

She highlighted the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's commitment to strengthening policies and programs that safeguard children's rights and expand educational opportunities. The event also featured a call to create a society where no child is left behind, regardless of gender, background, or social status.

Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim noted that Nigeria's 100 million children represent the nation’s greatest asset and emphasized the government's renewed hope for social impact interventions. The event showcased children's achievements and included remarks from UNICEF Deputy Representative Dr. Rownak Khan.
