Galatasaray's Kukner Addresses Osimhen After Criticism
Following Galatasaray's victory over LOSC Lille, board member Resit Omer Kukner published an open letter to Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. In the match, Osimhen ended a three-game scoring drought by scoring a goal that contributed to a 4-2 win against his former club.
However, his post-match interview, where he defended his performance against critics, garnered significant attention. Kukner acknowledged Osimhen's talent but expressed concerns regarding his recurring offside issues, citing a disallowed goal in the same match as an example.
He reminded Osimhen that many of Galatasaray's legendary forwards faced similar scrutiny during their careers. The letter concluded on a positive note, with Kukner referring to Osimhen as "an incredibly precious gem" for the club and stating that criticism aimed at him is intended to foster his development.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan before making the move permanent.
