GBHub Africa Invests ₦150 Million in Food Security Initiative

GBHub Africa has made a ₦150 million impact investment in Inyen Agro Processing Factory Ltd as part of efforts to strengthen food security and improve nutrition in Nigeria. The investment is expected to expand Inyen Agro's cassava processing operations, increasing rural economic participation and improving access to nutritious food products, particularly in underserved communities.

Bless Akpan, a member of the International Advisory Group for the Nutrition Growth Summit 2025, operates the modular cassava processing facility in Akwa Ibom State, producing vitamin biofortified cassava flakes and garri to address micronutrient deficiencies among vulnerable populations. The company plans to scale its processing capacity from four tons to 16 tons monthly and diversify cassava derivatives, including flour and starch.

This initiative is projected to create 200 jobs and support 1,000 smallholder farmers by providing training and market access opportunities. Vincent Egb, CEO of GBFood Africa, emphasized the importance of local investment in strengthening Africa's food systems and bridging the gap between rural production and urban industrial demand.
