Gen. Waheedi Shaibu Confirmed as Nigerian Army Chief by Senate

Gen. Waheedi Shaibu has been officially confirmed as the Chief of Army Staff by the Nigerian Senate, succeeding Gen.

Olufemi Oluyede. The confirmation ceremony took place in Abuja at the National Assembly complex under tight security.

Senator Isah Jubrin from Kogi East attested to Shaibu's competence and character, describing him as the right man for the job. Shaibu, who is known for his humility and dedication, expressed his readiness to tackle the security challenges facing Nigeria.
