MURIC Renews Calls for Sack of INEC Chairman Over Genocide Allegations

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has reiterated its demand for the removal of INEC chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, over accusations of writing a legal brief in the United States alleging Christian genocide in Nigeria. MURIC's Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, questions the government's inaction despite previous calls for Amupitan's removal.

The report titled "Nigeria's Silent Slaughter" calls for urgent international intervention to stop violence against Christians and minority groups in Nigeria. President Muhammadu Buhari's administration is urged to address the sensitive matter.

Various Islamic organizations have joined MURIC in calling for Amupitan's dismissal.
