Geregu Power PLC Appoints Acting CEO Engr. Mohammed Jaoji

Geregu Power Plc has filed a corporate action notice disclosing the appointment of Engr. Mohammed Sani Jaoji as Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective August 17, 2026. The filing also confirms that the term of the previous Interim CEO, Mr. Sean Manley, ended on August 14, 2026 and was not renewed.

Geregu Power Plc notified the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on August 17, 2026, of the appointment of Engr. Mohammed Sani Jaoji as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective the same date. The appointment is subject to the approval of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and is described as interim pending the appointment of a substantive Chief Executive Officer.

Engr. Jaoji holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and is a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). The filing states he has over three decades of experience in Nigeria's power sector, including roles at the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) and Geregu Power Plc, where he served as Head, Maintenance Planning and Performance from 2007 to 2019. He subsequently served as Technical Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Power from 2019 to 2023 before returning to Geregu Power Plc.

The filing confirms that the tenure of the previous Interim CEO, Mr. Sean Manley, ended on August 14, 2026 and was not renewed. The company's secretary, Ms. Gbeminiyi Shoda, signed the disclosure on behalf of Geregu Power Plc.
