Geregu Power PLC Appoints Acting CEO Engr. Mohammed Jaoji

Geregu Power Plc has notified the Nigerian Exchange Limited of the appointment of Engr. Mohammed Sani Jaoji as Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective August 17, 2026. The appointment follows the non-renewal of the term of Interim CEO Mr. Sean Manley, which ended on August 14, 2026.

Geregu Power Plc filed a corporate action notice with the Nigerian Exchange Limited on August 17, 2026, disclosing the appointment of Engr. Mohammed Sani Jaoji as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective the same date. The appointment is subject to the approval of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

Engr. Jaoji holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and is a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He has over three decades of experience in Nigeria's power sector, having previously worked at the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) and at Geregu Power Plc itself, where he served as Head of Maintenance Planning and Performance from 2007 to 2019. Between 2019 and 2023, he served as Technical Assistant to the Minister of Power before rejoining Geregu Power Plc.

The filing states that the appointment follows the non-renewal of the term of the former Interim CEO, Mr. Sean Manley, whose tenure ended on August 14, 2026. The Board described the appointment as intended to strengthen governance and strategic direction pending the selection of a substantive Chief Executive Officer.
