Femi Fani-Kayode Denies Rejection of Ambassador Nomination

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister, has refuted claims that the German government rejected his nomination as ambassador, which were reported by the Peoples Gazette. He stated that these allegations stem from opposition politicians attempting to undermine his appointment.

Fani-Kayode emphasized that he was approved for the ambassadorial post by President Bola Tinubu, which is designated for a Central European country. Reports indicated that German authorities cited Fani-Kayode's past controversial statements, which they deemed erratic and divisive, as a reason for the alleged rejection.

A senior administrative official mentioned that he would be redeployed to South Africa instead. However, Fani-Kayode dismissed these reports as false and accused the opposition of spreading "fake news" to discredit him.

He vowed to serve the country despite these challenges and reiterated his commitment to his role.
