NPA Boss Dantsoho Promotes Trade at Kaduna Fair

At the Kaduna trade fair, Dantsoho, the boss of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), sought to attract investors by discussing tailored processes aimed at dismantling long-standing bureaucratic bottlenecks that have previously discouraged participation in the export value chain. He highlighted the NPA's special day, inviting the public to explore simplified export processes and the opportunities presented by Nigerian ports.

Dantsoho explained that reforms are designed to boost non-oil exports and improve Nigeria's balance of trade by integrating production from hinterlands into the global supply chain. He noted the establishment of an export process that includes electronic packaging and certification to streamline shipments.

Dantsoho called for a system that ensures faster cargo evacuation and reduced congestion. He emphasized the NPA's collaboration with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) to create pathways for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to participate in international trade.

Dantsoho reaffirmed the importance of trade in achieving Nigeria's economic aspirations and highlighted ongoing efforts to automate port operations.
