NPA Boss Dr. Dantsoho Advocates for Simplified Exports

Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), called on traders and export investors to capitalize on newly simplified export pathways designed to position Nigeria as a competitive player in global trade.

Speaking during the NPA's special day at the International Trade Fair 2026, he highlighted the authority's efforts to dismantle bureaucratic bottlenecks that have historically hindered participation in the export value chain. Dantsoho explained the creation of an export process termed "ept," which serves as a one-stop hub for consolidating cargo handling, packaging, documentation, and certification for electronic shipment scheduling.

He cited February 14 as a significant date for the electronic integration of port operations, aimed at ensuring faster cargo evacuation, reducing congestion, and improving turnaround time. Dantsoho emphasized the NPA's partnership with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) to link domestic export warehouses and provide small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with structured pathways for participation in international trade.

He reaffirmed the NPA's commitment to collaboration and sustaining partnerships beyond the trade fair.
