Goodluck Jonathan Eyes 2027 Presidential Run on PDP Ticket

Former President Goodluck Jonathan is contemplating a presidential run in the 2027 elections on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform, aiming to challenge the current president, Bola Tinubu. Sources close to Jonathan's team indicated that he is considering this move due to rising hardships and poverty in Nigeria.

The PDP is reportedly experiencing internal competition as various support groups scramble to purchase the presidential nomination form, which is pegged at 100 million Naira. A deadline for submission is set for Tuesday.

The Goodluckan Movement, a diaspora group, claims the right to obtain the form, while other northern groups are also seeking to purchase it. Jonathan has urged these groups to support his potential candidacy, although he has not yet made a final decision.

His legal team is preparing to address a court case that may challenge his eligibility to run, given that he has already served two terms as president.
