Niger State Governor Orders School Closure Over Insecurity

Governor Bago of Niger State has ordered the immediate closure of all schools in the state after the abduction of students and teachers at St. Mary's Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara.

The closure affects both private and public schools, including religious and federal government colleges in Minna, schools of nursing in Bida and Kontagora. The governor emphasized the government's commitment to protecting lives and property, urging security agencies, civil society organizations, labor unions, religious leaders, and the community to focus on rescue efforts.

The exact number of abducted pupils is yet to be confirmed.
