Mutfwang Calls Emergency Meeting After Plateau Killings

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State convened an emergency security council meeting in response to a wave of attacks that reportedly left at least 30 people dead across several communities in the past week. The meeting took place in the executive council chamber of the new government house and included attendance from the head of the Federal State Security Agency and senior officials, including the Deputy Governor and the State Commissioner of Police.

The urgency of the meeting was underscored by a recent attack on Thursday night in the Nche Shwye Rishi community, where five people, including children, were killed. Local community leader Gata Mose described the killings as barbaric and senseless.

Nuhu Michael, another community leader, expressed frustration over the ongoing violence and called for security agencies to take more decisive action. Governor Mutfwang directed security agencies to intensify operations in the affected areas to strengthen security presence and ensure justice is served.
