Edo Governor Okpebholo Begins N4.6bn Payment to Disengaged Workers

Governor Okpebholo of Edo State has initiated the payment of N4.6 billion to disengaged workers from Colleges of Education in Ekiadolor and Igueben. The first tranche of payments has been approved, covering 682 pensioners from Ekiadolor and 32 from Igueben.

The disbursements are in line with the Pension Act of Nigeria, demonstrating the government's commitment to upholding workers' rights. Additionally, Governor Okpebholo has authorized the release of a second tranche of N1 million for pensioners from Colleges of Agriculture in Iguoriakhi and Agenebode.

This move aims to restore dignity to those who have served the state.
