Gov. Otti Presents N1.016 Trillion 2026 Budget Proposal to Abia Assembly

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, presented a N1.016 trillion budget proposal for 2026 to the Abia State House of Assembly.

The budget reflects a 13% increase from the 2025 budget, with a total estimated allocation of N811.8 billion for capital expenditure and N204.4 billion for recurrent spending. Gov.

Otti emphasized a 32% increase in capital budget and a 33% growth in recurrent expenditure compared to the previous year. The budget prioritizes sectors like education and health, allocating a combined 35% share.

Gov. Otti plans to finance recurrent expenditures through Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and direct borrowing for infrastructure development.
