Gombe Governor Yahaya Appoints Jokthan as New SUBEB Chairman

Governor Yahaya of Gombe State has approved the removal of Mr. Babadidi as the Chairman of the Gombe State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), effective October 31, 2025.

In his place, Associate Professor Esrom Toro Jokthan has been appointed as the new chairman. The decision was conveyed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, in accordance with the state law.

Jokthan is expected to leverage his academic and administrative experience to enhance the delivery and quality of basic education in the state. The move reaffirms the government's commitment to sustaining reforms in the education sector.
