Yayi Progressives Movement Rebrands Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Omoluabi Movement has officially rebranded as the Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) in Ogun State, as announced by convenor Tope Akintund. This transition reflects the group's commitment to mobilizing support for candidates in the upcoming 2027 general elections, particularly focusing on Solomon Adeola Yayi's gubernatorial aspirations.

The movement aims to strengthen grassroots participation and promote progressive ideals within the political landscape. Akintund noted that the rebranding signifies a shift towards a broader political platform that aligns with emerging realities ahead of the elections.

The Yayi Progressives Movement comprises 17 dedicated groups, including artisans and youth organizations, and boasts a membership of 30,000, showcasing its growth and influence. The movement's philosophy centers on institutional reform, economic growth, and enhancing civic participation, with a goal to create lasting impacts beyond electoral cycles.
