Group To Promote Nigerian Artistry In Jewellery Design

Women in Mining Nigeria (WIMIN) has launched the National Jewellery Making Competition 2025 to promote Nigerian artistry in jewellery design. The competition is set to be a premier event at the upcoming Gold Gemstone Conference Exhibition (GGCE) 2025, aiming to showcase African elegance on a global stage by emphasizing the use of locally sourced gemstones.

Engr Janet Adeyemi, the founder and national president of WIMIN, highlighted the competition's role in advancing the central theme of GGCE 2025, which focuses on accelerating collaboration for sustainable gold and gemstone development. The competition is open to emerging professional jewellery artists, with the aim of spotlighting exceptional talent across the country.

The competition will feature two main categories - Bead Artists and Metal Artists, with finalists showcasing their creations in November 2025 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel. The winner will receive an award, a curated gemstone gift pack, exposure, mentoring sessions, and retail opportunities.
