GTCO Supports Sports as Lagos STL Wins Polo Tournament

GTCO (Guaranty Trust Holding Company PLC) has reinforced its commitment to advancing sports development in Nigeria and across Africa, following the thrilling conclusion of the 2026 NPA Lagos International Polo Tournament. Lagos STL emerged as the champion of the prestigious Majekodunmi Cup, which GTCO headlined as a sponsor.

The tournament, hosted at the historic Lagos Polo Club from January 27 to February 15, attracted elite local and international teams, dignitaries, corporate leaders, and thousands of spectators, solidifying its status as Africa's premier polo spectacle. In a gripping final, Lagos STL defeated Shoreline A1 with a score of 10-7, clinching the title with a dramatic late goal.

The team's success was underscored by their depth and discipline, as they also secured victories in the Independ Cup, Dapo Ojora Cup, Owen Cup, and the Argentine Ambassador's Cup. GTCO's Group Chief Executive Officer, Segun Agbaje, highlighted the broader impact of sports in building a global presence for Nigeria, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and fair play as core values.
