Guinea Insurance Plc (NGX: GUINEAINS) has announced the completion of its recapitalisation exercise, disclosing that it successfully concluded both a Rights Issue and a Private Placement to strengthen its capital base. The recapitalisation was undertaken to comply with the minimum capital requirement applicable to non-life insurance companies as stipulated under the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA) 2025.
The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has published Guinea Insurance's name among insurance companies that have met the applicable recapitalisation requirement, confirming the company's regulatory compliance.
According to the filing dated 14 August 2026, the company states it remains fully operational and continues to provide insurance solutions to customers while meeting valid claims, policy and contractual obligations in the ordinary course of business. The company noted that brokers, corporate clients, policyholders and prospective customers can continue to engage through existing channels.
Managing Director and CEO Ademola Abidogun signed the disclosure, which was issued from the company's corporate head office at Guinea Insurance House, 33 Ikorodu Road, Jibowu, Lagos. Guinea Insurance is authorised and regulated by NAICOM under registration number RIC NO. 017.
