Gunmen Kill Anambra Community Leader and Another in Suspected Cult Attack

Gunmen suspected to be cultists killed the President-General of Ogidi community, Sir Ikwuka Okoy, and another individual in Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State. The attack, believed to be a revenge mission by a rival cult group, occurred late Friday at a school field in Ogidi.

The victims were shot dead, leading to condemnation from residents and officials. The Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident and stated that it is linked to recent captures and killings of notorious cultists in the community.

The police have assured the public of efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice and are intensifying investigations. Eyewitnesses are cooperating with the police to identify and arrest the suspects.

The community has been urged to remain calm as investigations continue.
