Gunmen kill one, abduct shop owner in Ondo community

Gunmen in Ondo community killed one man, identified as Okudili Okoro, and abducted a businesswoman, Mrs. Orogun.

The incident took place in Ayede Ogbese community in Akure North LGA, Ondo state, with around ten attackers arriving in two unregistered vehicles and opening fire. The gunmen also kidnapped two other women who sell provisions and cosmetics.

The police confirmed the incident, stating that the attackers fled in two vehicles, a silver EOD car and a grey Toyota Camry. The Ondo state commissioner of police visited the crime scene and directed efforts to rescue the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.

This incident comes just two weeks after a staff member of Adekunle Ajasin University was kidnapped and released after a ransom of N5 million was paid. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward.
