Gunmen Kill Policeman in Benue Checkpoint Attack

Gunmen attacked a checkpoint in Benue, Nigeria, killing Inspector Akpan Ogbol of the Nigeria Police Force and injuring Abechi Och of the Nigeria Forest Hunter Service. The victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment, but Ogbol succumbed to his injuries.

The assailants used AK-47 rifles and a pump-action gun. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.
