Gwale LGA Wins N5m in Kano Football Tournament

Gwale Local Government Area (LGA) emerged victorious in a football tournament organized by the Steron Community Development Foundation, earning a cash prize of N5 million. The tournament featured 16 teams from 15 local government areas within the Kano Central Senatorial District.

Nassarawa LGA finished as the first runner-up, receiving N2 million, while Dala LGA secured third place with a reward of N1 million. Each participating team was granted N200,000, contributing to a total prize pool of N8.2 million.

The event aimed to promote youth development and talent discovery, fostering unity and peaceful coexistence among communities. Representatives from the Steron Community Development Foundation emphasized the importance of sports as a tool for youth engagement and economic inclusion.

They called for stronger collaboration between the government and the private sector to expand grassroots sports programs across the country, encouraging young footballers to take advantage of talent discovery initiatives and mentorship opportunities.
