Achraf Hakimi to Face Trial Over Rape Allegation

Achraf Hakimi, a 24-year-old Moroccan footballer and captain of Paris Saint-Germain, is facing trial following a rape allegation made by a 24-year-old woman. The complaint was filed on February 26, 2023, after the woman alleged that she was raped at Hakimi's home in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris.

A formal indictment was issued five days later. The prosecutor in Nanterre initiated a request for the case to proceed to criminal court, which was confirmed on a Tuesday, marking the conclusion of the investigative phase.

Hakimi has consistently denied the allegations, asserting that the encounter was consensual. In a statement posted on social media, he expressed frustration with the process and reiterated his innocence, stating that the rape accusation is unjust and that he is calmly awaiting the trial, which has yet to have a public date announced.
