Super Eagles Assemble 20 Players for AFCON Qualifiers

The Super Eagles' camp in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom state, has seen the arrival of 20 players as head coach Éric Chelle prepares for the first training session ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar on September 25. The latest arrivals include forwards Ademola Lookman and Moses Simon.

Three additional players, captain Wilfred Ndidi, forward Samuel Chukwueze, and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, are expected to join later on September 22, 2027. The team will host Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo before traveling to Guinea-Bissau for the second qualifier on September 29.

The squad has been reshaped following the withdrawal of Victor Osimhen due to injury, with Akor Adams and Taiwo Awoniyi stepping in as key attacking options. Ndidi's arrival will complete the midfield alongside Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, and Raphael Onyedika, while Nwabali will provide a full goalkeeping roster.
