APM Claims Tinubu's Minister Confirms APC's Economic Failures

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has asserted that the comments made by Senator Abubakar Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, regarding the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu, validate their stance on the failure of the APC-led Federal Government. This statement was made by APM's National Publicity Secretary, Mr Abubakar Yusuf, during a press briefing in Abuja.

Bagudu acknowledged that the administration did not foresee the severe global economic turbulence, which Yusuf interpreted as an admission of the government's failure to prepare adequately for the repercussions of its policies. Yusuf criticized the administration for its lack of a coherent economic strategy, claiming that the abrupt removal of the fuel subsidy and other measures led to increased hardship for Nigerians, including rising unemployment and business closures.

He called for President Tinubu to take responsibility for these issues and reconsider his candidacy for the 2027 presidential election, advocating for Mr Seyi Makinde as a viable alternative with a solid development plan.
