APM Critiques Tinubu's Economic Policies Amid Hardship

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has condemned the remarks made by Senator Abubakar Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, regarding the economic difficulties facing Nigeria, interpreting them as an admission of failure by President Bola Tinubu's administration. In a statement issued by APM's National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, the party criticized the government's economic measures, including the removal of the fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira, claiming these actions have exacerbated hardship for citizens and negatively impacted businesses.

Bagudu acknowledged at the Federal Appointees Strategic Summit in Abuja that the government underestimated the economic turbulence following its reforms. The APM stated that the administration's policies have led to increased poverty, business closures, and widespread unemployment, urging President Tinubu to accept responsibility for the situation, apologize to Nigerians, and withdraw from the 2027 presidential race.

They emphasized the need for a leadership change to address Nigeria's economic challenges effectively.
