Haske Quits APC, Becomes APM's Adamawa Governorship Candidate for 2027

Abdulrahman Haske, a businessman and politician, has formally departed the All Progressives Congress and secured the governorship nomination of the Allied Peoples Movement for Adamawa State's 2027 election cycle. Haske made the announcement at a gathering in Yola on Saturday, drawing attendees from across the state's 21 local government areas, including party officials, community leaders, traditional rulers, and grassroots organisations.

In statements explaining his move, Haske cited his belief that the APM platform better suited his vision for the state's future. He outlined plans centring on people-driven development, the advancement of youth populations, and a governance model rooted in transparency and accountability.

The businessman framed his decision as a strategic choice to pursue these objectives more effectively. The Saturday event in Yola represented the formal presentation of Haske as the APM's selected candidate, confirming his transition from the APC ahead of the 2027 poll.

A statement from his publicity team, attributed to Abdulgaffar Ahmed, confirmed the defection and candidate status. The ceremony drew representation from across Adamawa's constituent local government areas.
