Hayatu-Deen Warns ADC Against Old Politics for 2027

Moham Hayatu-Deen, a presidential aspirant for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), addressed a youth town hall meeting in Abuja on Thursday, where he cautioned the party against reverting to outdated political practices as they prepare for the 2027 general elections. He emphasized that the ADC must present fresh candidates without political baggage to effectively challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hayatu-Deen urged the party to seize the opportunity presented by the upcoming elections to offer a credible alternative to the current government, which he criticized for failing to address the pressing issues facing Nigeria's youth, including unemployment and insecurity. He highlighted that two-thirds of Nigeria's population is under 35 years old and lamented the poor leadership that has led to significant challenges, such as 18 million Nigerian children out of school and millions of graduates struggling to find employment.

Hayatu-Deen proposed the creation of 100 days of public work annually for low-income Nigerians and tax incentives for companies to employ vulnerable communities.
