Hayatudeen Celebrates 25 Years of Independent Newspapers

Alhaji Moham Hayatudeen, a former group managing director of the New Nigeria Development Company and former chairman and CEO of FSB International Bank, celebrated the 25th anniversary of Independent Newspapers at a silver jubilee award ceremony in Lagos on Saturday. He commended the newspaper for its survival and growth over the past quarter-century, describing it as a testament to the resilience of Nigeria's evolving media landscape.

Hayatudeen emphasized the critical need for strong institutions and outlined three pillars necessary for national greatness: strong institutions, strong leadership, and a focus on consumer products that build trust. He underscored the media's role as the "lifeblood of democracy," advocating for the independence and integrity of the press to hold power accountable.

Hayatudeen concluded by affirming that Nigeria's challenges stem not from a lack of potential but from the need for consistent alignment of human resources toward a shared national purpose.
