HBCU Baseball MVP Johan Sandoval Arrested by Immigration

Johan Sandoval, a baseball player at Savannah State University, was arrested by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Clifton Park, New York, on Friday due to a violation of his F-1 student visa status. Sandoval, originally from the Dominican Republic, has been living in the United States since 2021 while playing baseball and attending school.

He was recently announced as the MVP of the 2026 HBCU Baseball Star Game. Following his arrest, Sandoval's family has initiated a fundraising campaign via GoFundMe to assist him in navigating the immigration process.

The campaign aims to gather support to ensure that he can continue his studies and pursue his dreams, with the involvement of an immigration attorney to facilitate the process.
