Dangote Discusses Family Legacy and Future Sons

Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Group and Africa's richest man, commented on the prospect of having a biological son, stating that it might not be beneficial for his family's name. He has three biological daughters—Mariya, Halima, and Fatima—from two failed marriages and one adopted son, Abdulrahman Fasasi.

Mariya is involved in leadership at Dangote Group, Halima serves as a senior executive and board member, and Fatima holds key executive positions in the group's subsidiaries. Dangote has been married twice; his first marriage to Zainab in 1977 produced two daughters, Maria and Halima, while his second marriage to Mariya Muhammad Rufai ended in divorce in 2017, yielding one daughter, Fatima.

In an interview with Arise Television, Dangote stated, “Sometimes you can pray for God to give you a son but that son might be the one that would take down the name of the family,” reflecting on the importance of his daughters' achievements.
