TUC Rejects Nigerian Government's "No Work, No Pay" Policy Amid Health Workers' Strike

The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has strongly opposed the Nigerian government's "No Work, No Pay" policy towards striking health workers, particularly members of the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU). TUC President Festus Osifo and General Secretary Na Toro condemned the directive as an abuse of power and a deliberate attempt to sabotage ongoing negotiations.

They accused the government of insincerity and double standards in managing the crisis, emphasizing that workers should not be punished for exercising their rights. The TUC vowed to resist the policy and protect workers from being deprived of their salaries, especially during challenging economic times in Nigeria.
