Hearn Optimistic About Joshua-Fury Fight Announcement

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn expects an announcement on the Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury fight amid ongoing negotiations about the venue. Both fighters have signed contracts, but Joshua's specifically requires the bout to occur in the United Kingdom.

Organizers, including Netflix and Saudi financier Turki Alalshikh, prefer a U.S. location to maximize viewership. Hearn has sent revisions to the Saudi-owned entertainment company Sela, proposing a larger purse for Joshua to address U.S. tax implications.

He indicated that if their terms are accepted, they would consider a fight in America. The targeted date remains November 20 at Madison Square Garden.

Hearn warned that the fight could be delayed until December, which he and Joshua oppose. Hearn emphasized the urgency of the negotiations, stating that Joshua is ready to return to training after a recovery period.

He reiterated the desire to fulfill the original agreement for a UK venue.
