British boxing promoter Eddie Hearn stated that the anticipated heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is likely to occur in New York, specifically at Madison Square Garden, despite initial agreements for a UK venue. Hearn revealed that significant pressure from broadcasters, including Netflix, and Turki Alalshikh has influenced the decision to stage the event in the United States.

While Anthony Joshua's team preferred to keep the fight in the UK, Hearn expressed frustration that discussions with local UK government officials and venue representatives have been neglected. He noted, “It seems like everybody is adamant that the fight takes place in New York,” and highlighted that Tyson Fury has consented to the American venue.

Hearn mentioned ongoing discussions to potentially alter the contract to accommodate the change, emphasizing that they do not wish to modify the venue or host country but are willing to negotiate if necessary.
