Heavy Security as Seven Contest Bauchi APC Governorship Primary

In Bauchi State, heavy security was deployed at the APC office as seven aspirants prepared to contest the governorship primary election ahead of the 2027 polls. Among the aspirants are Dr.

Bala Wunti, former Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited official; Mohammed Abubakar, former governor of Bauchi State; Yusuf Tuggar, former Minister of Foreign Affairs; Yakubu Abdullahi, former Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control; Kabiru Babama Aji, former Minority Leader of the Bauchi State House of Assembly; Baba Abubakar, former Bauchi State Commissioner for Finance; and Nura Soro. However, two aspirants, Sunusi Magaji and Shehu Buba, withdrew from the race, with Magaji reportedly stepping down to support Mohammed Abubakar.

The APC primary is viewed as a defining moment for the party's future in Bauchi, with calls for unity and support for the candidates from various political groups.
