Helpster and Partners Provide Critical Healthcare Services in Makoko, Lagos

Helpster, in collaboration with partners like Empower Foundation, organized a free medical outreach in Makoko, Lagos, Nigeria. The initiative aimed to offer essential healthcare services to thousands of families living in overcrowded wooden houses above the Lagos lagoon.

The outreach provided medical screenings, health education, physical examinations, and counseling to address issues like poverty, malnutrition, and preventable diseases. A total of 372 individuals were screened, with 58 tested for sickle cell disease and malaria.

Dr. Perpetua Mbanefo, Helpster's country manager, highlighted the impact of bridging the healthcare gap in the vulnerable Makoko community.
