Lagos Offers Free Cataract Surgery to Over 1,000 Residents

Over 1,000 residents in Lagos are set to benefit from free cataract surgery through a partnership between the Lagos State government and the Attom Foundation. The initiative aims to provide free eye screenings and surgeries to restore sight and hope to residents.

The programme, coordinated by the Blindness Prevention Programme Unit of the Ministry of Health, will take place at various locations across the state. The wife of the Permanent Secretary of Lagos Health District IV, Dr.

Modupe Bowale, commended the initiative for its compassion in tackling avoidable blindness and emphasized the importance of early detection through regular eye check-ups.
