Minister Enikanolaiy Engages Retired Secretaries Council

On July 8, 2026, the Honourable Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiy, welcomed a delegation from the Council of Retired Federal Permanent Secretaries (CORFEP) in Abuja. The delegation was led by Mr.

Akin Arikaw, the second vice chairman of CORFEP. During the meeting, Ambassador Enikanolaiy expressed profound appreciation for the council's goodwill messages and prayers following his appointment.

He paid special tribute to Ambassador Bulu Lolo for his invaluable role during his tenure as a permanent secretary. The minister reaffirmed his commitment to the council and emphasized the importance of completing documentation for retired permanent secretaries.

He announced plans to institutionalize regular training programs to build capacity and draw on the extensive knowledge and experience of retired senior public servants to mentor younger officials in the foreign service. Enikanolaiy called for a reevaluation of the existing national development framework, stressing the demographic's central role in Nigeria's development agenda.

He underscored the importance of continuous professional development within the foreign service, linking training and capacity building directly to career progression.
