Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Ministry Partners for Reforms

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria, under the leadership of Minister of State Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiy, is partnering with the African Relations Professionals Network (AFRPN) to initiate reforms in the foreign service. During a welcoming meeting in Abuja, Enikanolaiy emphasized the importance of the wealth of experience within the AFRPN and its value as a national asset.

The ministry is focusing on revitalizing policies, structuring institutions, and implementing merit-based administrative processes to improve professionalism and efficiency in the foreign service. Key ongoing reforms include the establishment of a training program for diplomats and mechanisms for public advocacy.

Enikanolaiy also mentioned exploring innovative funding mechanisms to enhance resource mobilization for effective service delivery. Ambassador Sani Saulawa Bala, the first vice president of AFRPN, expressed confidence in Enikanolaiy's leadership and reaffirmed the association's commitment to supporting the ministry's policies, particularly in specialized training and mentorship programs for diplomats.
