PINL Stresses Host Communities' Role in Oil Production Goals
Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) stated that host communities and stakeholders along the Trans Niger Pipeline (TNP) and Eastern Gas Network (EGN) are vital for Nigeria's oil and gas production goals for 2027 and 2030. In 2025, Nigeria's crude oil and condensate production averaged 1.77 million barrels per day, the highest in five years, while natural gas production reached 7.2 billion standard cubic feet per day.
Dr. Akpos Mezeh, General Manager of Community and Government Relations at PINL, made these remarks during a bimonthly stakeholders' meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) aims for crude oil production of two million barrels per day by 2027 and three million barrels per day by 2030, alongside increasing natural gas production to 12 billion standard cubic feet daily by 2030.
Mezeh highlighted the importance of protecting pipeline infrastructure and maintaining peaceful relations with host communities. Stakeholders commended PINL's operations and urged the Federal Government to sustain its contract.
