House Drama as Agbese Alleges Signature Forgery

During a session in the House on Thursday, Hon. Philip Agbese accused members of the opposition of forgery regarding a list endorsing Hon.

Imo Ugochinyere as the minority leader. This allegation arose after Hon.

Kingsley Chinda resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). Agbese claimed that his signature was included on a list of 61 members endorsing Ugochinyere without his consent, alleging that members received 50,000 naira for their signatures.

He raised a point of privilege during the plenary, asserting that the endorsement process violated legislative privileges and amounted to forgery. The Speaker, Hon.

Tajudeen Abba, noted the need for a response to Agbese's allegations. The session became chaotic as Agbese and Ugochinyere engaged in a loud exchange, prompting the Speaker to restore order.

A meeting of the minority caucus was scheduled for 2 PM to address the disagreements.
