Leadership Tussle in House of Reps Over Endorsement List

A leadership tussle has erupted in the House of Representatives as Hon. Philip Agbese raised concerns over an endorsement list for minority leadership, allegedly involving Hon.

Ugochinyere. This controversy follows the resignation of former minority leader Hon.

Kingsley Chinda, who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Agbese claimed that the document, which surfaced online, contained forged signatures of lawmakers endorsing Ugochinyere for the minority leadership position.

He urged the House leadership to investigate the matter to prevent further misuse of names in connection with the endorsement campaign. The situation escalated during a session, with members shouting across the aisle, and Hon.

Billi Osawaru describing the allegations as grave and criminal. Speaker Abba Tajudeen called for calm and emphasized that the issue should be addressed internally within the opposition caucus.

A closed-door meeting was scheduled to discuss the leadership contest and the allegations surrounding the endorsement document.
