Nigerian House Suspends CBT Rollout for 2026 WAEC Exams Due to Infrastructure Concerns

The Nigerian House of Representatives has halted the rollout of CBT for the 2026 WAEC exams, citing potential disastrous consequences for the education system. Hon.

Kelechi Nworgu raised concerns about inadequate infrastructure, lack of trained teachers, and student readiness for digital exams. The House urged WAEC and the Ministry of Education to delay CBT implementation until 2029-2030.

They also called for the recruitment of computer science teachers, establishment of computer labs, and provision of internet connectivity in schools nationwide.
